Doug71zt
I'm assembling a 3.0 right now with the LD crank and 87mm Ross pistons. I'm using stock rods. Did anyone have any need to notch the bores to clear the rods? Mine turns without interference, but it seems really close at the neck of the rod to bore, about .1" as far as I can tell. Not wanting to rip the bottom end apart again, I hope that the answer is negative. I found out today that Ross only shipped me a 4 cylinder spirolock kit, so I am really short on those. Guest 280ZForce
i'm using the the LD28 crank and 87mm Ross pistons, but as far as I know you will need the 240z rods... not sure if those are the rods you speak of having or not. So then you will have a 3.0L stroker turbo like me.
Doug71zt
Yes, I'm using 240 rods, the Ross pistons were from the group purchase a few years ago - I've been waiting for the stock bottom end to give up, but it is still going strong... Guest 280ZForce
well you got the right rods as long as those pistons have the 34mm pin height that they should have, there should be no interference as far I know. good luck with your build. speeder
Some strokers will need to have the bottoms of the bores clearanced. On mine, I had one rod big end that touched the block. 0.100" clearance is good, IMO.
