Fuzz260z
hello, i am currently entertaining the idea of buying am a 280z(non turbo)for a few hundred (aussie). shes pretty rusted and dinted, but im not worried about that, im sure the engine is still strong. i also have a 77 260z, and my idea is get the 280 engine running sweet, turbo it and all that jaz, then drop the new 'L28ET' in the 260(with new drivetrain obviously). my quetion is, will the old 280 motor be able to tolerate the boost and compresion as well as the L28ET would? would it give the same performance? i havent seen the egnine in the 280 im going to buy yet, but im assuming it dosent have the f54 block or the p90 head(it may have the f54 block actually now i think about it). anything u guys might no that would help me is much appretiated. TheNeedForZ
You can search about L28E ---> L28E + turbo threads and read what has been discussed and discovered. I can tell you right now that you DON'T absolutely need the F54 block. The N42 block is just as good/strong.
