Guest 90TTZ
Hi all I'm new here so please go easy on me I live in Australia and a regular user of aus300zx.com I currently own a 1990 TT Auto 2+2 and recently heard that a conversion has been done to fit a T56 behind a VG30DETT, is this correct? Any info or links to posts would be much appreciated. A conversion kit that is available would be excellent but I would fabricate something if it is fairly straight forward. My engine currently makes a reliable 275 KW at the wheels so I suppose my question is are these gearboxes up to handling that much power or more? Cheers. onefast87
the stock tranny from a z32 is plenty tough, if you live in australia it shouldnt be hard to track down a OS Giken Cross gear set too if the stock tranny cant take wwhat you throw at it.they say the stock 5 speed can take 600hp
Guest 90TTZ
It's not the strength I am concerned about, I want a 6th gear which will complement the 4.1:1 final drive ratio. The Holden Commodore (GM) and Ford Falcon both use the T56 so the transmission itself is easy to come by. Plus I am converting from an Auto so two advantages to be had.
