My 83 swaztica rims ride on a hump on the front face of the brake caliper. Ive heard of someone shaving it off, will this damage the caliper??

thanks,

You can get some spacers that would probably clear the hump at Wheel and tire outlets or parts store and Nissan Qwest Van lug studs will provide the extra length. Bump your post for another day to ask if taking off the hump is safe. I considered doing it but was a little concerned.

Franklin, the Honda wheels are some 20-30mm further out on the inside face over Z wheels(depends on wheels chosen)so that would easily give you the required clearance for the vented calipers. I've had a few scenarios where grinding on a strut ear or caliper would have made life easy but never took that route, the anal engineer in me prevented it

It's a casting hump, that's where they poured the aluminum into the cast. The only pic I have is on my second link, then click on picture page, then scroll down to the bottom. You can't tell from the pic that I shaved it.
