Guest Anonymous Posted August 19, 2002 Share Posted August 19, 2002 Hello everybody i'm new to this board, and i am currently converting a '77 280z 2+2 to a v8z. I've got the JTR manual and i'm wondering if it is really necessary to reroute the brake lines. On the older stock toyota trucks the brake lines were like 3in from from the manifold. Sumo Posted August 19, 2002 Share Posted August 19, 2002 Welcome to the board, rerouting the brake lines is so that the heat wont boil your brake fluid. I've heard of some people just putting a heat shield or just didnt do anything and got away with it. It really is for safety that they reroute the lines. The plastic wrap around my wiring harness is already very melted near the headers.
