jrz
Hi all, finally got started working on the Z. In case some of you may remember, I was posting here last year for help rebuilding my old 289. Since then I've aquired a rebuilt long block. I mean literally just the long block. I'll have to use my old oil pan, intake manifold, waterpump, valve covers, and ect. Even though the pistons looks new through the spark plug holes, it's got rust all over the place due to it being left uncovered next to the door in the garage. Just want some tips from you pros on best method of cleaning the block and what parts I should order to put on the new block. I know I need a engine bolt kit, block hugger headers, and distributor since that was one of the main problems in my old motor. I believe I'll need new gaskets but not sure if I need all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even better if you're in the Seattle area and could come over to take a look to see not if, but what I'm doing wrong or forgetting since this is my first time (of course a lot of beer and other beverages will be offered:cheers:). TIA
