ZR8ED
Anyone converted to 5 lug hubs using datsun/nissan equipment? I already have 300zx rotors on the front, and only needed a spacer to adapt them to my 280Z hubs... I wonder if the 300zx hubs themselves would fit on a 280? 300zx parts are very easy for me to get a hold of. Converting the back is different again, but I have not thought that far.. I'm only thinking of using nissan, because I have access to several Z31 parts cars right now... Anyone tried? if not, I'm going to pull a 300zx hub and try and fit it.. nothing to lose. Why the sudden though of 5 lug?.. I just found a wicked set of used rims off a 300zxt.. huge 17" rims... I'm going to use them on my own 88 300zxt for now, but thought if I could fit them on my 280??? hmm could be a solution for my larger rim quest. Any thoughts? or am I just dreaming crazy stuff again.. Thanks
Guest Anonymous
Apparently no problem you could not solve on the front, the rears will have to be drilled out with 4 new holes and using one original hole making five. You will have just entered into the standard 5 lug 4 1/ 2 bolt circle of Ford Motor Company.

Doug71zt
Scott - I'm using early 300zxt front hubs on my 240 with 01 maxima 17" wheels. No problem fitting the hubs - stock wheel brgs and seals. The 240 spindle has a slightly larger dia. where the seal runs but it works - just have to be gentle putting the hub on. On the rear I upgraded to 280 stubs, welded up the stud holes, redrilled to 5 on 4.5 in a mill.DON'T TRY TO REDRILL THE PATTERN ON THE CAR!!! I run custom 1.7" spacers with rotor mounts for willwood 11.75 x .810 rotors and Z32 calipers. The spacers are bolt on with studs pressed into them. No issues with 5000 miles on the setup. My front brakes are custom rotor hats, Willwood 12.25 x 1.25 curved vane rotors, Z32 TT aluminum calipers with custom mounts. I'm very happly with the brakes and wheels. I'm running 225/45/17 Khumo 712's which are a decent street tire but no track tire. Good for hanging the rear end out on 10 lbs boost. If you need plans, etc - send me a PM.
