Ford DIS vs Ford EDIS

So.. in going back out to the wrecking yard and seeing what vehicles I could get my hands on.. every single 6 cyl ford or ford product I could get my hands on had a DIS module, not an EDIS module. I ended up running into to EDIS-8 modules, however. I'm pretty sure I'm still stuck as far as that. Am I incorrect in my assumption or is DIS != EDIS as far as megasquirt goes?

Thanks

If the DIS module didn't come with a 36-1 crank wheel, yes. Ford's 3.8 Super Coupe and Taurus SHO used a weird TFI / EDIS hybrid that was simply marked "Motorcraft DIS." It appears to use the same signals as a TFI system instead of an EDIS one, and IIRC it has a cam sync sensor of some sort as well as a 3 tooth crank wheel. So it's not as easy to swap on as EDIS.
