Please end my archive search headache and help me out!!! The biggest reason we have a hard time finding wheels is backspacing. Most wheels have much more backspacing than will bolt onto a Z. The bolt pattern is fairly common. It is 4x4.5 or 4x114.3, depending on whether measuring metric or standard. If you don't mind using spacers, then you've got a very large selection out there. Most people seem to be afraid of the idea of putting a set of spacers in there and that severely limits what's available to them. I have not actually run spacers myself, but plan to as soon as I find a new set of wheels I like. As for types of spacers, there are for the most part two types. The first is the slip-on spacers. These require longer wheel studs to be pressed in and then they just slip on between the wheel and hub to make up the difference in backspacing. Your bolt pattern stays the same, only backspacing changes. The other type of spacer is the bolt-on. It goes onto your original lugs with a set of lug nuts and then provides a new set of lugs to bolt your wheels to. You can either keep the same bolt pattern or change it up a bit. I believe Ross's spacers change the bolt pattern to 4x100 (don't quote me on that!)which will handle most honda wheels. Gene
CruxGNZ
If you like, you can check out Jeromios site here . He has 17X8 wheels with a 20mm offset and no spacer was needed. Sometimes you can just get lucky with these cars. !M!
Guest Z-rific
I've been to his website many times. Very nice ride. I don't have coil-overs, and he said his would not fit otherwise. So it looks like it's spacers for me. Now for the math (and my headache gets bigger . The Z rims have what backspacing? My 78 has a 5 inch rim (I believe). And there is little room between the tire and spring. So if I go to a 7 inch rim, I have to either have the same backspacing with a 2" spacer, or a 50mm offset. The tires on now are 195's. 2 inches more tire equals 245's. (I do have 2" to go out to the flares). So, theoretically, I could get 16x7's with 245's all around with the same offset as the original rim and a 2" spacer? OR Get 16x7's with a 50mm offset different from the Z rim (which is what, positive or negative)? Discount tire has some great prices on wheels and it seems somebody is always having a closeout on tires. I'm trying to stay in the $1000 range for the whole setup. And my car gets out of the shop in about 2 weeks. And I'm so sick of doing internet searches I could puke .

Guest Thurem
Check out Center Line wheels. I like the Thruster style, Summitracing has them in all kinds of sizes and boltpatterns and backspacing. Thure
