Astral Ace
Is it too thick to have in the diff. and the trans. in the winter? I just bought some because I am grinding on 75-90 (mobil 1). It says it's ok for a GL4 application, but I'm thinking it's just too thick, and I should exchange it. I want Redline MT-90 because everyone praises it, but couldn't find it. I went out looking at AutoZone and O'reallys (I know that's not how you spell it.) I also went to Napa and to Pepboys. No one has it around here. If I should just get it, then maybe get it online... Thanks for any help.
Astral Ace
Oh, and in the mornings the Z likes to jerk around, like the oil is slowing it down, or frozen. Something is not right. It makes a sort of claking of gears noise. But I know it's full, and the oil is fresh.
ezzzzzzz
My choice for gear oil is the 'liquid gold' Castrol makes for the GM NV4500 5 speed. Any chevy dealer should be able to pull it right off the shelf for you. It sells for about $20 a quart. I run it in every manual box I own. If interested I'll pull the P/N off a bottle and post here when I get home.
Astral Ace
Yeah sure, I'll try that too. If the royal purple don't work out for me. I just need a little more feed back on it.
