blowoff valve: stock or aftermarket?

I am looking to run no more than 15psi on my motor.

 

I am looking into a 1g DSM factory BoV (cheap) or a Blitz SS BoV. Is there really any point in going for the blitz and spending the extra money or would that only be important if I was running higher boost levels. On my last car i had rb20det and ran stock valve and it sounded great and seemed fine

I ran a dsm blow off valve like that one with no issues at 18psi. One thing I had to do however is get a peice of rubber hose (very small diameter rad hose actually) and connect the outlet to the air intake between the maf/afm and the turbo. Otherwise it would not run right, it would suck in a minor amount of air and mess with the afr's. Of course I don't know what setup you are running, if you have a map style sensor it is not a issue.

 

If you do have a maf or afm, I would go with the dsm bov for sure...
