Guest soulfly454
alright i have a 71 240 with a chevy 283 that i recently wrecked and in the wreck i ripped the front suspension out of the frame on the passenger side and kinda bend the rails a little on the driver side i was trying to figure out how to fix this when i saw a link on zdriver.com for a place that sells frame rails i was wondering if any one has used them and if anyone has any other ideas on how to fix my problem by the way the site is znzx.com and the rails are under the specials section
Guest Anonymous
Soul...if you ripped one side of the front suspenion out of the "frame rails", all the king's horses and all the King's men may not be able to put that unibody strait without a unibody frame straightening machine.Get a Datsun shop manual that will have all the dimensions of your year Z and do some careful measuring of Point As to Point Bs to see what got twisted out of shape on the unibody suspension mounting points.. This job is not as easy as removing and replacing panels for rust repair. Pete P on his website may have the critical type of measurement that you need without consulting a shop manual. and the local Nissan Dealer may have old shop manuals they wiill copy pages for you for copy costs, Maybe cheaper to find another Z and learn to keep your young foot out of the carburator ( and in all places by a police officers residence)
