BuzzOrHowl
I have an used Luk pressure plate (lcf 588 stamped in outer cover) originally supplied with a weber ceramic/organic dual material friction disk. I also have an unused high end "race" carbon fiber friction disk. I'd like to put both in my 78' 280Z, powered by an L28 (stock block, 6 to 1 header, cold air intake). My current clutch is slipping, and since I got both the above clutch components for free, I'd like to use them if at all possible before spending cash on a new clutch. My concern is that the pressure plate won't be strong enough to work with the carbon friction plate... or that my stock L28 won't be strong enough to break in the carbon plate... but I'd like to try it... can anyone offer ideas or advice on this project?
