Anyone Been Thru a Turbo Holley conversion?

Recommended Posts

Saw references to CarTech Holley based turbo in an old HP How TO Modify publication.. Any experience?

I went thru one in 74 with the Crown Rajay kit before Nissan offered an option....using a single SU

No intercooler in those days, lots of vapor lock and burnt oil bearings on the turbo from inadequate oil feed. We were also naive enough to use ARCO Graphite back then.....Yes, we used the Nissan competition oil pump, Venolia forged pistons, copper O ringed head...never blew the head....had fun blowing off the Road Runners, Chargers, 440's, etc.

Just wondering what ever happened to the CarTech approach and any feed back.

I have a 72 with L28 and 5 speed w/2 SU's. COnsidering several options:

Side Draft Webers, Sr20 w/turbo swap, or someting less exotic like the Holley based turbo (if still offered); Want to stay somewhat street driveable with creature comforts.
