Guest mattrp
I spent 12 hours working on that thing. No manual, never done one before, just took it apart, and tried to remember how it all went. I assembled it like 6 times just to get it right. But it shifts, and operates, so i hope its ok. As long as it makes the car go when i get a chance to test it, I'll count myslef as experienced at building T-5's. I'll keep you guys posted. Hehehe. Guest mattrp
I just thought I'd update you guys. I have been driving the car for a couple of days now and it works great. The tranny is very winy, but no worse than before and much tigher feeling. I'm happy. Hopefully it iwll hold up in the long term. jeromio
You are a very brave man. I've always considered myself pretty fearless, but I've never so much as contemplated tearing apart a transmission with any hope of putting it back together. Most I've done is replace a valve body in an automatic....
Guest mattrp
Some call me brave, others call me flat out stupid, but personally, I like saying I assembled or replaced every mechanical piece in the car. And besides, at worst, the tranny builder just has to put it back together. I'm pretty sure anyone could do it, if they take a long time, reassemble everything over and over to figure out how it works, and LOOK AT IT WHILE IT COMES APART! If anyone is as crazy as me I'd be happy to write a tutorial from memory about the points of the rebuild. I just laid on my stomache for 9 hours in the garage fidling with it, hehehe. Hey, when you 18, you can do that stuff! Matt 72 500Z
