GM HEI, two green wires on module - how to test?

Trying to resurrect a 260z with L24, have spark using GM HEI instead of trying to figure out the PO's hack job. The dizzy has two green wires, wondering what the effect is if you have them backwards. It will start, but runs rough and requires a lot of advance.

 

Also trying to fix numerous intake leaks at the same time, so it is kind of hard to pin down the problem. Just found out it was leaking at the EGR gasket.

 

Main symptom is running rough, backfire through carb and won't fire where it should. Confirmed TDC already.
