cockerstar Posted March 17, 2008 Share Posted March 17, 2008 My haynes says: Diff: API GL-5 (refer to manual transmission oil for correct weight) Tranny: API GL-4 SAE 140W (above 50*F) SAE 90W (between 30* and 100*F) SAE 85W (between 10* and 85*F) SAE 80W90 (below 100*F) SAE 80W (below 85*F) SAE 75W (below 50*F) Hope this helps It's all the info for a 280ZX so that's the 5 speed and the R180 and the R200 although I don't think that it would make a huge difference. I know they are stupid questions, but I never really understood oil weight and viscosity. i think I pretty much use 5w30 royal purple all year round for engine oil.
