Guest Daddyrick Posted January 20, 2001 Share Posted January 20, 2001 I have just pulled the original engine and trans from my 280Z, getting ready to clean and replace everything that needs refurbishing and install the new V8. Question-- the drive shaft slid out of the trans ok as we removed the engine, but how in the H---, do you remove the drive shaft from the diff. I don't have a shop manual yet to go by, but I can't get any leverage to break the bolts lose. Is there some secret? I haven't looked at it since we removed the engine, maybe I missed something. Guest dankinzle Posted January 20, 2001 Share Posted January 20, 2001 When I was doing mine, I had trouble at first, but I ended up unlinking the swaybar and I was able to (barely) access the bolts from the back with an open socket.
