randy 77zt
has any body calculated the max drive shaft rpms for a z?i know this is a function of length/tube diameter but i am not an engineer.this might be critical on a car used in neveda for open road race.i remember reading about the 200 mph red camaro running a 2.3 rear gear with a 4 speed.4th is 1 to 1 so your tach would be your shaft speed. Guest scca
the max as for engineering?/ dont know but my 510 routinely sees 9500 rpm......i usually shift at 9200- Rebello long rod carillo/JE' piston combo. thats no joke.... yes 9500 so a v8 will not likely get to that! oh and teaby's 510 hits 10,500 alot so i'm relatively mild... ------------------ Mike mike@fonebooth.com http://www.fonebooth.com/brakes.html raceparts and brake upgrades.
