Guest RagedApe
I ran into more problems after the 5spd swap. I finished everything and the car started but I cannot change gear. I can change gear when the car is off but I would have to put it into a certain gear if I want to drive it and just stays in that gear. I bled the clutch system a lot and even the master cylinder. What is the problem? As if there's not enough pressure or play to push the fork all the way back.
jasper
Start engine in neutral. Step on clutch. Wait 3 seconds. Attempt reverse shift, gingerly. If it grinds, your clutch is not releasing. Could be hydraulic, or mechanical (disc,or pressure plate). Possible distance/length problem witht fork/t.o. bearing/pivot. Hard to push shifter into first? Was this a conversion from an auto? Pilot bearing installed? Too tight on input shaft?
Guest RagedApe
The conversion was from an auto. The pilot bearing was install. Like I typed earlier the clutch isn't releasing because I felt like there's not enough pressure enough though I bled the system. Man...i wish i know the exact problem so I could attack it
coyotegary
in some cases you need to remove the floor pedal stop under the clutch pedal to alow the pedal to go all the way to the floor . this will give you an extra inch or more throw. its the part with the little rubber pad on it. remove the pad and the bracket
Guest RagedApe
Great advice, hopefully you're right and that's what I needed. Do you have a picture of what it looks like? I will definitely check it tomorrow when I see the car again. Anymore advice would be greatly appreciated it.
