Guest Anonymous
After ploughing through loads of spreadsheets with "what if's" I finally worked out what my final drive ratio should be on my project car. Consequently I'm having the diff checked and adjusted by a specialist ('cos I'm too chicken to attempt it)when they change the ratio on the LSD to 3.7. My question for you guys is....can anyone give me an idea of what I should ask these guys to adjust the amount of slip to? Bear in mind that it's really only going to be used on road with occasional track work. (It's got a 4litre Lexus engine with 5 speed Supra box, about 300kW at the flywheel, and it's getting a "Speedracer" type body kit)
Dan Baldwin
Depends a bit on your setup, but I'd say you want between 30 and 45 lb-ft breakaway. My LSD had 23 lb-ft 5 years ago, and this has been sufficient for track work with street tires, but I get inside wheelspin with Hoosier track tires.
