Cockerstar's 1971 240z restoration project (56k=no lots of pics)

This thread here is to serve both as entertainment for all of you as well as a place for me to keep track of what I have done to her. I would also like to make a hard copy to send back to the guy that I got the car from so he can see what his project finished as. I got this car from a post here in the cars for sale thread. One of wingnutthehut's friends Ed was moving from Oregon to Montana due to a new job. As much as he hated to say good bye to his baby, he came to the realization that he was going to have to part with his beloved '71 240z. Ed had had the car since '71. He traded his jeep to a guy 6 months after the z left the dealership when he was only 17 years old. He decided that he didn't want to sell the car, but he would rather give the whole project (parts cars and all) away to someone who would finish what he had started. He had started to tear into her an a lot of the work has already been done for me! Everything I need for the restoration is here between the original and 2 nearly complete parts cars. He rebuilt the engine, removed 95% of the interior, did some body work, checked the trans over, and much much more that I missed. It looks like my job will be putting everything back together and adding some paint. I am very thankful for what Ed has given me and I hope to be able to make him proud with the end result.

My plans for this car are to restore it to a respectable factory condition. I'm not aiming for restoration competition quality, but I do want to be able to show it off at meets and local car shows and take pride in what I'm showing.

If things go according to plan, I'll be able to use one of the parts cars to auto-x. Weld in a new rocker/chunk of quarter, replace the door, gut interior, slap my turbo onto my l28e from my ZX, megasquirt, and run. That's all for another thread though ;)

On to the pictures! All of them can be found at my album and I am only posting a few in this thread. I hope you enjoy and feel free to message me with any comments, criticisms, or ideas!
