Globerunner513
Found these for $50 for the pair. Im going to pick them up anyway...but just wondering before hand how well they fit into a 280z? I know there are probably several variants of these seats, and one picture can't show a whole lot. I did search and found someone who used a set of APC seats and said he had to add some spacers to tilt the seat a little inward. The picture expired though, and I couldn't see what the seats looked like. Thanks guys!
Guest 73LT1Z
I think most of these sport type seats mount in the same way. Find out how far apart the mounting holes are, the ones on your car should be like 12.75" on center. You may be able to adapt your 280Z brackets to these seats with not too much work, I have a recent thread here doing this with similar appearing JC Whitney seats. It is not too hard to relocate/tilt them one way or another.
Globerunner513
well turns out they were gone already. Oh well...I was planning on waiting until i have the money for some recaro seats anyway. Thanks for the tips though. That thread really helped to visualize what goes into a seat swap like this.
Daphur280
I bought an Apc seat that I intend to re-upholster, anyway, the base mounting holes are 16" wide, which sit pretty close to the edge of the seat, so you can follow 73LT1's install method for the JC seats however, you're going to have to use relocating-mounts on both sliders, instead of ust the one side. I will soon be posting pics of the install.
