datsun723
Hello. I have a '78 280Z stock. my question is that i know that these are hot cars but after an hour or so of driving, the plastic console covering the tranny is really really hot. is this normal? the trans shifts fine, no grinding or anything. it's the stock exhaust system with no leaks or anything. and if this is normal...will an insulation cool down the interior? any input is appreciated! thanks
srbigbutt
I noticed mine was pretty hot also when I was using my ash tray as a cup holder. My drink got hot pretty fast!!
mario_82_ZXT
Check your cat. If it's clogged or if your mixture is off, you could be cooking it. Mario
datsun723
haha yea i did the ash tray cup holder thing too.....nearly burned my tongue off > i planned on swapping the cat out for a less restrictive one anyways...maybe that'll cool things down. does anyone know if the MSA interior insulation would help? things are already hot enough out here in socal haha. thanks for your input
