I'm contemplating with the research I have done so far(not much by the way, it's all kind of confusing and overwhelming) if I should keep my Z n/a or go boost. I want to make the engine strong but keep it reliable for street use as I will be using as a daily driver. As far as I can tell from what I've read, replacing the head for the MN47(most likely would get a mild port job and shave before install) would make the best numbers. My engine is EFI, should I convert to carb or is the fuel injection a better(reliable) setup? If I go boost, can I use my block and just change out the head to a P90(turbo head right? is this the best flowing head for a turbo setup?) and get the boost essentials, or do I have to do a complete engine swap? I want to keep my L series and will do research on a stroker setup after I have good enough knowledge to move on, but as for now it's one thing at a time. Any and all opinions on the subject matter will be highly appreciated. I'm a newb at this so I apologize for my ignorance on the subject, but I figure asking questions is the best way to find answers. especially since most of you out there "have been there and done that." I've changed my mind so many times and have boat loads of cash tied up in parts currently. I think I would have still done it the same but it would have been much easier if I knew more going in. Make it run just the way it is and I mean 100%. Fix the old stuff. You'll have tons of questions anyway and learn alot. That is very true, I went from 350, turbo L6, Lt1, turbo L6, na L6, turbo L6, 360, 318, turbo L6... That was in the last year or two. Challenger Posted May 29, 2008 Share Posted May 29, 2008 For my smart alec response, remove the head... or get a coat hanger, and stick it in the spark plug hole to feel for a edge on the piston. Those thread links help, thanks to those who provided them. but I'm at the moment just getting started and building a high performance L28 turbo is not in my current agenda. i want to just keep it simple for now... stock turbo application. edit- actually those threads covered everything i needed to know. thanks again!!
