Guest Z Man377
I found two 280zx's in my local wrecking yard. One is an late 11/78 280zx with a 5 speed and a RS200. The other is an 03/79 with a 5 speed also a RS200. They are both coupes. I can't get them up in the air to tell what ratio they are. Im looking for a 3.36 which if either one is my best bet??? Thanks
GrayZee
According to the info given at: http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/ those diffs would be 3.70's but if it were a R180 it would be a 3.36 but I would check for sure by taking off the diff cover and look for numbers stamped on the side of the crown gear (divide the bigger # by the smaller one) That'll give you the ratio. Scottie-GNZ
The 3.36 R-200 was only available in the 79 280ZX 2+2 4-spd.
Modern Motorsports Ltd
quote: Im looking for a 3.36 which if either one is my best bet??? Thanks The earliest 280ZX's you can find, it hasn't been dead consistent what the few around have shown up in. As Scottie says the early ZX2+2 (ie. a 78 production) is your best shot, I've seen one come out of a 5spd ONCE.
Guest Z Man377
Thanks for the Help!!!! I'll keep looking. Also what is the cheapest price for Nissan motorsport gears? I see in my catalog that they make 3.154 ring&pinion set.
BLKMGK
Better yet - do they still stock it? Lot's of those parts are oout of production but still in the catalog I'm told None of their gearsets are particularly cheap either I'm betting...
