Guest zcar4me
Hello all! My name is Jack, and this is my first post. I'm working on a friend's '77 280z. I'm starting by renewing the intake mani...all new hoses, etc. I tried to remove the EGR at first just to take it off so I could have the intake hot-tanked. But now that I broke a bolt, I'm wondering if I could just cut the portion of the intake holding the EGR and have it welded/blocked off. I'm not worried about not having EGR, because the car will be reg'd as classic, and doesn't have to worry about emissions testing. Here is the N47: The EGR: And here is where I want to cut: If I cut that portion, I'll just be left with a square port to block off right? I've got quite a bit to learn, so please bear with me. I've had an '85 300zx and still have my '92, but this 280z is a first. Thanks for any advice! Oh and here is the car I'm working on, with my dog Ludo, and my Z peaking out of the garage...
