Calgary280ZT
Hey guys. We're stripping the old head and manifolds down, getting ready for the Rebello head, T3/T4, etc. Was hoping to use the stock WG actuator, but the different size of the compressor housing means the actuator won't work as is. I searched and didn't find anything and I am a real noob at this stuff, so be gentle. What are my options? 1) Modify the stock actuator? 2) Buy an internal actuator (I think that's what it's called) that is made for the T4 compressor? 3) Switch to an external WG? 4) Something I haven't thought of We hope to start putting things back together tomorrow (I know, not great planning on my part) and it's tough getting parts in Calgary. I'd probably have to get it shipped from the Excited States. Oh yeah, if anybody has an actuator or WG they want to sell that will fix my problem, and we can ship it FedEx and get it here asap, I'm open to that option. Challenger
Ive got an entire wastegate set off my stock t3. Im hoping to get a few more opinions on if I should use it in my other thread but If I dont use it Ill give you first dibs. Maybe you can try to modify yours and if it doesnt work you have a spare. Im not exactly sure of what your problem is or if you have the original one.. but thought Id throw it out there.
Calgary280ZT
The stock actuator is my problem. It doesn't fit on the T4 compressor housing. On the T3 housing it attachs by two bolts. But even if we fabbed up a bracket to make it fit on the T4 housing, the rod is too short. Everyone running a T3/T4 has tackled this problem, I was hoping for some solutions both short and long term. Maybe there's some way to modify the stock actuator until I can pick up a better solution. But thanks for the offer of your stock stuff. Challenger
You have any pictures? Thats what I thought the problem was once I thought about it. Where did you buy the turbo from?
Calgary280ZT
Bought the turbo privately from a guy who bought it new, then stashed it in his garage for 5 years. Checked for mfger's stamp of some kind, didn't see one. Hope I didn't pay big $$ for Chinese junk...nah, the guy was just too nice...LOL I'll try to get pics tomorrow.
