t-56 behind an L motor

Wow, looks like a lot of hard work & fabricating going on. Did you do the adaptor plates yourself? What is the smaller adaptor plate bolted to the center of the larger adaptor plate for?

One question about the welded bead from the bell housing to the adaptor plate; was that merely to permanantly attach the two pieces or did you also have to cut part of the bell housing in order to give room for the thickness of the larger adaptor plate?

Besides the purchase of the T-56; what were the costs of the modifications to the bell housing? How much of the mod's did you do yourself?

Nice work-what's the "ETA" for a test run? I'ld definately be interested in knowing how the 6cyl responds to the 6spd trans.

Kevin,

the bellhousing is from a 82-83 turbo zx.the plate on back that you mentioned is to hold the throw out bearing collar on. ( the throw out bearing holder and clutch fork is all nissan, the collar is a steel ford unit) . the t-5 bellhousing had to be machined around .75 an inch.and a 3/4 inch plate of aluminum was welded to it.the entire cost of the assembly including tranny is around 1500 or so.the car should be on the road in about 3 weeks.i posted more pics of the clutch and flywheel. http://photos.yahoo.com/sss510six
