Guest Anonymous
I am building a 240Z with an LT1 (around 400rwhp on motor, plus a fogger), and want to know what the strongest diff is that is commonly available, and if it will swap as a unit into the 240. I would like to get CV axles and better brakes out of the swap if possible. Sorry if this is a question that has been answered many times before, but I'm new to the Z car thing. I'd like to make the car as bulletproof as possible, the first time. TIA!
biohzrd
from the things i've read in this forum it's usually not the diff you have to worry about. the u-joints and half shafts are the problem points. one of the more popular swaps is to use a latter model 280zx turbo rear and it comes with cv shafts. Guest Anonymous
Joe I have 3 diff z's with 3 difrent set ups. And yes the joints are the weakest link. With my LT1 I'm using a R200 LSD (3.7) Buy a280zx (for a 4 lug) or a 300zx (5 lug) vc swap. A downer car lets you look befor you chang & than you can sell lft overs GOOD LUCK
