haberdash Posted October 29, 2008 Share Posted October 29, 2008 Just need a couple of questions answered. So, I'm planning to throw an s13/14 5spd into my 260z. Now, my zed already has the original 5spd and the original L26. When I do the swap, should I get the s13/14 box with all the housing and then mod that housing to the engine, OR should I get just the box and mod the current housing to the Silvia gearbox? IIRC the S13/14 uses the FS5W71C while the 260Z has the FS5W71B which is the same 5 spd internals in the older casing, do a search on here, I think you can unbolt the front of the S14 and 260z gearboxs and switch them over. so you have the L series front body and bellhousing on the silvias internals and tailend.
