Guest Anonymous
Hello to all from the newest member and HELP. I have been reading this forum for a couple of months to get ideas and I am at the point now that I need help with my project. I have a 1972 Triumph GT6 that I am swapping in the engine and trans from a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe(190 HP stock) and I know the stock GT6 rear end will not hold the power. There will be modifications this engine to get it to the 250 - 300 HP range. I would like to keep the IRS rear and I have very limited room to work in and that is why I'm thinking of the R180. My questions are: What is the max HP a R180 will hold and if I installed a Quaife in the R180 what HP would this hold? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Guest Anonymous
Why consider the R180? Go straight to a R200 ! unless your application is soley limited to the R 180.The R180 may last and the R200 will most likely last. A good solid R180 should take 250 to 300 Hp with a gentle touch.
