Guest Luigi
I think that there are 2 versions of this trans. 1993 is one and all after that ('cept for the LS1 engined so I guess there are 3?) How can I tell which one I have? I have the green tag from the trans. and I have OE microfiche but the numbers don't match. Local dealer is no help. Any ideas? Shift it into 6th and count is the best I've come up with. Thanks
Mike kZ
If the bellhousing is still on and there is a bolt hole at the top of the bellhousing, it's for a 98 and newer LS1. If not it's either a 93 w/400#tq or 94 to 97 with 450#tq. I suppose if you put it in 6th and turn the input shaft one turn, and the output only turns 1/2 you have a 94 to 97. If the output turns a little more than 1/2 you have a 93.
