AkumaNoZeta
I just heard that some people make a perimeter frame for unibody cars. What kind of advantages and disadvantages can you think of for that? So far I kinda like the idea but since I wanna keep it IRS the rear may be difficult to fab up, but then that would also give me the option of being able to fab up any IRS system I want from any car pretty much. I also like how I could narrow the front frames so I can make increased steering angle for wider tires keeping inside an unflared body. Welding the sheet metal to the frame should still keep the unibody rigidity right? To me this sounds good but I want to hear from others. I did search for "perimeter frames" and didn't even get a page worth of results so I though this would be good.
AkumaNoZeta
Ok, I've talked to my teacher about it and decided to just keep it the car the way it is, fab up the missing part of my front sub-frame and eventually tie it into a subframe connecter (when I have more time to do work on it) and eventually do a 6-point. But I would still like to see a discussion on this topic because I love to learn.
Filmjay
Never seen one on a Z. They're usually reserved for the old, heavy, big, sloppy muscle cars.
