A man in dk wants to sell his converted 74 260z he says it has a manual transmission from a toyota diesel with adapter. The conversion is done in the states many years ago (has not been driven for 16 years). Is it a scarab or?

It sounds like one-of-a-kind conversion. Can't immagine why anyone would go to that much trouble to put a Toyota transmission in when there were so many Chevy trans's that were available, unless it had gear ratios that were desirable for that project. It is probably not a Scarab.

I have searched the web and i found out that a 7mgte engine has the same bolt pattern as the diesel and 22re pickups and is good enough for 300 hp like the na supra transmissions (same bellhosing with hydraulic throwout bearing that seems to work in the z. A t5 transmission is very rare in europe. So the idea isnt that bad especially in europe there used reasonably priced us parts are from the 60s or 70s as most of the import stopped in the 70s.

Now i have seen the transmission. He uses an chevrolet bellhousing with a 10 mm adapter plate. The transmission, throwout bearing clutch fork and hydraulic push cylinder is toyota ke70 diesel??? but he says he has done several full throttle starts with a targetmaster 350 engine (it looks rather big for a diesel transmission). The clutch is a 260 mm toyota dyna with 10" chevy flywheel and pressure plate. He wants to sell the car without engine for 4500$. how is that compared to a unwelded car with conversion parts in us. The body is perfect unwelded with a wine red paintjob and enkei wheels but the carpet is missing. Including is an extra r200 with cv axles hooker headders th 350 driveshaft and lots of other things. He claimss the r200 is without positraction eventhough its a 280 turbo rearend with alu cover can this be true.
