georgiaz
When I bolt up the crossmember to my th350 and raise it up against the floor pan it seems to be sitting high in the rear. Is this normal or should I drop it down to something near level? Is the angle going to cause a vibration problem. I am using the JTR mounts. Guest Anonymous
Georgia Z, With my 2004R bolted up it looks too low just the opposite of your observation.(LOL wecaould trade cross members) I would suggest installing the drive shaft for an overall comparison between the rear diff and the tranny snout. Also I used grade 8 bolts with a flat plate of 3/8 x 3 inch bar stock on the inside floor pan and cinched the **** out of the bolts to flatten the floor pan. After removing the transmission cross member for painting, I found that I will need shorter bolts now since the other bolts had been tightened all the way to the bolt shoulders and still have not flattened the floor board mounting area completely. After the drive shaft is shortened and installed I will make adjustments to the drive shaft angle.
