takayuki
hi, I'm still fairly new to these cars. I have some questions regarding the shifter console. I understand the lever is the choke lever, and the toggle switch is for the rear defrost. What about that button that sits next to the defrost switch? It looks something like a hazard switch. And what is the blank slot for by the choke lever? Thanks.
Jesse OBrien
I'm going to guess they're for fog lights or running lights of some sort. The other lever though, I've no idea.
COZY Z COLE
The left side slot is for the choke lever and the right side slot is for a manual throttle lever. LARRY
takayuki
thanks for the replies! Got another question tho, what do you mean by manual throttle lever? Is it something like a hand operated throttle pedal?
COZY Z COLE
The intent of it was as an aid in the warming up of the car. In the US most dealers disconnected it due to safety concerns because the only way to reduce rpms with the lever at full throttle was to push it back to idle rpms. It was not controlled by the brake. This was not a cruise control unit, it was a strictly manual lever throttle control. LARRY
blue72
Those manual throttle knobs are very tough to come by nowadays too.
