Dees Nutz Posted March 9, 2009 Share Posted March 9, 2009 i have a 73 240z with the msa performance spring and strut package (eibach springs and tokico hp struts) i was told it would lower the car maybe a inch to a inch 1/2 i also have the rear disc brake conversion kit and the 4 piston brake caliper kit. I have stock fenders and will roll if needed.... My question is there a guy in my area selling a set of STAGGERED BRAND NEW STILL IN BOX Sportmax XXR wheel 513 Finish: BLACK with Machine Lip Size: 2 rims 16x7 offset +15 Size: 2 rims 16X8 offset +0 Bolt Pattern: 4X100 and 4X114.3 (4.5") Center Caps Included Weight: 18.5 lbs each I need to know if these will work on my car with my setup... fastzcars Posted March 9, 2009 Share Posted March 9, 2009 are you sure the offsets are not switched around? the 16x8 should have the +15 and the 16x7 should be 0. The 16x7 will fit with the stock struts. But I think the 16x8's might hit the lower spring mounts on the struts. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dees Nutz Posted March 9, 2009 Author Share Posted March 9, 2009 ya i checked out the website and they say the same thing 16x7 +15 and the 16x8 is 0 offset so im not sure what the deal is. im supposed to go look at them tonight and maybe buy them from a guy on craiglist but know i dont know if they will work... tonycharger72 Posted March 9, 2009 Share Posted March 9, 2009 In my experience, which I must stress - does differ from other members!!! The 16x8's with 0 offset will be fine for strut clearance on the rears (and fronts if you were so inclinded) - you should have at least 125mm of backspacing on the rear of the Z - those wheels should have about 114mm of backspacing! They will however, probably poke out past the guards - but should be small, if you lower the car you will most likely need to roll the rear guards! The fronts should be about perfect - should have strut clearance (about 10mm) and should just sit within you inner fender lip on the front!
