Pmac
If you buy one then definitely get one that folds up when not in use. Otherwise they take up a lot of valuable garage floor space. I recently got one of the foldable two-ton hoists at Harbor Freight. It was on sale and I had a $25 off coupon so it only cost me around $125. Before I bought it I would always just bum a "cherry picker" from one of my car buddies. Here in the UK we dont have "harbour Freight" but we do have Machine Mart which I guess is similar. IE it sells tools suitable for DIY and low end of garage trade. I bought a folding one years ago. i probably only use it 1/2 times a year. the rest of the time it sits neatly in a corner outta the way. Really useful bit of kit. It sometimes goes "out on loan" to local mates.....and usually comes back with a few beers etc attached:mrgreen: So its useful ... AND it ups your street cred too:wink:
Beau M
I hear you with the street cred part. When I got my welder, all the guys at work were jealous, even though none of us know how to weld.
