Guest supraman
Hello everyone at Hybrid Z, I just bought a 02/1977 280Z, with a rebuilt motor (94k mile's), 5 speed coupe. I'm trying to tackle a few wiring issue's left behind from the previous owner. I have a few skill's but a little lost on the wiring.(learning curve) A EFI to Weber swap was done, but the carb's took a crap on me and they didn't run that good anyway. So, I swaped those for a very nice set of SU roundtops and manifold's, all hand polished and rebuilt. The previous owner installed a fuel regulator, but that's it, so i bought a low pressure electric pump to get this right. I pulled the ECU and harness since it really is not needed any more and was now taking up space. I guess the thermostat and temp gauge were still hooked up along with the fuel pump relay. I know an alternator swap wass done and alot of wiring was changed by the last owner. My question is, were is the best place to tap into from my relay for power to the fuel pump? I've searched and found a lot of unsure answer's, so it's time to ask. Also, What effect's should i be aware of when gutting the ECU. Do I just need to run the wiring from the the front of the thermostat housing to the gauge? This is keeping my Z off the road, just trying to get her going! It will be my daily driver too.
