The Infidel's SBC 240z Build.

Recommended Posts

Bought the car in March 09. Mostly stock, had a 5spd swap and a hydraulic head and some sort of OEM Honda seats. Car was exactly what I was looking for. A straight bodied car with decent paint. Totaled, I paid 2800. Which, in my eye's was a bargain.

The goal is the obvious SBC swap. Although Id love to drop a 3.1 in the car, it comes down to dollar per hp and the small block wins. The build, although id like it to be in asap, is going to be a steady but slow pace build. I am by no way an expert when it comes to V8's, so I want to do it right the first time. I want a block between 350 and 383. That might seem broad but I know my budget will not handle a 400ci at this time. Aluminum heads and a mild cam are a must along with a Victor jr. intake manifold. As for a carb I am undecided at the moment of writing this first post.

As for drive train, I am currently at a cross road between manual or auto. I do plan on taking the car to the drags, so a th350 would be expectable. But this being a street car and I being road racing enthusiast my mind screams manual transmission! It would be nice to ride/drive in each respected set up to make my own decision (if you live in the bay area please send me a PM!). The rear end although will be a Q45 r230, that will handle anything I throw at it.

On to the pictures.
