DavyZ
Lone, that's the one I'm going to use as well! Now I know what I'm looking for in the wrecking yard. How much did that baby cost you in the Sacto area, anyway? A new Flex 150 is $$$, so I'm hoping this is much better! David
Guest zfan
Davey, Im in Dallas, Tx. Paid 40.00 for fan set up. Dont know if this is good or not. But cheaper than 180.00 for black magic! Mike
TimZ
Lone... If you can find the Ford part number for that fan, I can try to see what info I can find out about it - cfm, current draw, etc... The Ford part number looks something like E69Z-14A464-AA i.e., it should be a three part number.
Guest Anonymous
Tim, The number is F1DE-8146-BA. Any info would be cool. I'd like to know what CFM these put out. Its mentioned in JTR's book as putting out more than the BM150. We'll see, but its a sizable unit with long curved plastic blades (sharp as hell I might add, cut the daylights out of myself when cleaning it)so I don't doubt it. (it looks a tad bit better than the photo now... ) Mike, thats a excellent deal, wish I could have scored that well. Davy, I did price around the net and the complete assembly (on the sites that have online pricing, rare, was 75-100). I paid the later unfortunately, but like was said, its cheaper than the BM 150 which is $180.00, so I'm ok with it. DavyZ
I wouldn't worry about the cost, Lone, that sounds about right for out here. I'm just trying to get an idea of how empty my wallet will be when I go out there... Sometimes it helps if they have a "holiday 50% off special," but who really wants to be there on a holiday when...ok, me...you could be BBQing steaks with the family and friends? Guest Anonymous
Here is a picture of the '92 Taurus 2sp fan, I just got it and it needs to be cleaned up. When its mounted I'll post again to let you see it in relationship to the Camaro radiator. Not sure who it was right now that suggested it, but thanks, it looks like it'll work great. It is a 2sp unit: Lone http://www.bent8z.bizland.com/_borders/Aut_0015.jpg ------------------ http://www.bent8z.bizland.com/index.html [This message has been edited by lonehdrider (edited February 16, 2001).]

DavyZ
Thanks for alerting us to the picture, Mike. That is the best one so far for showing how the fan mounts up to the radiator. It looks like you used simple sheetmetal screws that mount through the top aluminum "backbone" of the radiator.
Dan Juday
DavyZ, My Taurus fan came with the motor package from the yard. The yard I got it from, in Stockton, has at least one more. $100.
DavyZ
Dan, thanks for the info--but what's the name of the yard? The local pick & pull in Newark has soooo many Taurus's last time I was there, but most are the 4 banger type. David
