z32 VLSD swap and shaft fitment

So, it has been said to do this to the z32 input shafts....

My input shafts from my z32 look like these...

I disassembled the half shafts, the spider gear slid over the spline...

Does that need to be welded?

 

Also, if the shorter input shaft has to be splined deeper, and have a new ring groove, why cant i just use the T-T shaft? They look the same and already have the correct ring grove.

I have not compared the longer side yet...

I also have a theory that if the shorter shaft has it's splines increased, it will not need to be shortened to slide all the way in...
