Challenger
Hey, Im in the process of organizing the engine bay on my 280zxt and there are a couple small "things" attached to the side of the AFM. There are several vacume lines that go into them along with a couple plugs. The Diaphram on them says "VCM". Does that mean vacume control module? What does it do? Thanks
evan1242
it does exactly what it says. there should only be three vacuum lines coming off of the VCM. the either go to the boot between the AFM, and the turbo, or to the little steel rails along the side of the intake manifold. (and i think one of them is supposed to have a little check valve thing spliced into the vacuum line.)
HowlerMonkey
One controls the idle and one controls the egr valve.
Challenger
it does exactly what it says. Well it said VCM so I assumed it didnt VCMificate. Alright, from what Ive found its ok to remove it, just make sure all the new vacume leaks are plugged. Should any of the wires coming off of it be addressed or does just leaving them there to tangle work ok? Thanks
