Guest Rick Johnson
Hey guys, Do your oil pressure gages read in the bottom 1/4 to 1/3 of your gage? My situation is that I have about 50 to 55 PSI actual pressure at the sending unit but the gage reads about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up from no pressure. Heaven only knows what oil pressure sending unit is installed on my car. According to the service manual, the gage is supposed to read between 0 and 140 PSI. My sending unit may properly be putting 50 PSI at the 1/3 point on the scale BUT the gage still looks like the motor has low oil pressure. I want to buy a new sending unit (mine finally broke)and was wondering if anyone had experienced low gage readings and solved them by installing a sender with different internal calibration. Any part numbers, descriptions, or catalog references would be appreciated.
