Guest JAMIE T
I recently acquired an '88 Turbo Coupe Thunderturd. My brother plans on putting the engine, trans, and disc brake rear in his Mustang coupe. When we got the car it had been sitting for a while(@8 months). We put in a battery and it fired right up. We then took it for the required test drive before yanking the engine. When the car is not in gear, it revs good(well, good enough anyway) but when it is under load, it doesn't rev past 4000, even when the performance switch is set for premium fuel. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, how can I tell if the turbo is working properly? The boost gauge goes to about 10 when it is revved in neutral, and goes up to 4 or 5 when under load. The car appears to have new plug wires and filters, and minor tune-up stuff. Any help? Jamie Deathstar
