Guest 1z2c Posted October 4, 2001 Share Posted October 4, 2001 I have a 1978 280.The JTR book says the wire for the factory temp gage is yellow/white strip.I dont have a yellow/white stiped wire on my 78 280.Did 1978 use a different color wire? Guest 1z2c Posted October 9, 2001 Share Posted October 9, 2001 Well since nobody replyed to my post i did some research and did this to find the right color wire for the factory gage.( "Need to ground one wire at a time".) I ground the Yellow wires in the engine bay on the passenger side.( Go inside the car and look at the temp gauge while turning on the car WITHOUT starting it. When you've found the right wire, the gauge will go to max. Plug that wire into the water temp sensor.)Guess what, It Worked!!!!! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
