Guest Anonymous
My V-8 71z has a totally butchered underdash harness. Instead of trying to fix. I am considering either a Painless Wiring kit or a Russ Francis kit. Painless is a little cheaper but is it better? I a would like to know if others had problems with installing either kit .I plan on using the stock gages and switches and upgrading the headlight circuits. thanks for any assistance in this area. Guest bang847
it seems like the painless kit is more oem style.. while the ron francis kit looks more racer style.. honestly the painless kit looks a little flimsly but this is the first time i have ever done something like this... oh if you order the painless kit kragen has it for pretty cheap... i think their price is 305.. but if you bring in a ad you can possibly get it for less... jeromio
I've had experience with both Painless and American Autowire. The former was less $ and easier. The latter was equivalent quality, but the inkjet on the wires was spaced waaay to far apart and hard to read in places and absent in others. Also, it had mistakes in both the diagrams and the wire labels! Sucky. Ron Francis kits look really nice, but they're twice the price. Too high in my opinion. Go with the Painless - get it from Summit or some other online place - much cheaper.
Guest Anonymous
Heres another place as well, I was looking at they're fuseboxes which look pretty well made. I guess they're popular in some of the street rods price is comparable to painless and each wire labeled just like painless at least according to they're ad. Heres the link: http://www.centechwire.com/catalog/index.html Regards, Lone
