Guest zmaize
Not that i'm anywhere close to this point yet... but i was just wondering, has anyone tried to make the electronic (digital) dash from later 280 zx's work with a v8 conversion? particularly in my case I am putting in a 327 sbc with a t56 tranny, which has speed by wire (for lack of a better word) rather than cable coming from tranny. the stock nissan tran has a cable, but I would imagine that it goes into some sort of sensor which then transmits a variable amount of current, which would tell the speedometer what to read, right? so in theory, you could just eliminate the "sensor" or whatever it is that translates the cable speed and just run the wire from the t56 into the digital speedometer... i suppose no one has tried this but it would be really cool if it worked. I'm sure it would require some fine tuning, and may not be worth the effort, but... Someone out there that's an elecrical/electronic wizard could probably answer this one... thanks BTW it's an 83 zx that i'm working on.
