nismo_zxt Posted October 14, 2009 Share Posted October 14, 2009 Is this someone would have information regarding the installation of a Z31 turbo 300zx 87-89 transmission (FS5R30A) first version on L series engine? I plan to the swap to hole more HP, but don't know about the fitting. If anybody body know (for sure) if it a bolt on or not let me know. Do I need to put an adapter between the trans into the engine? Do you know if it's the same bolt pattern. Do I need an adapter? Or could I drill new hole, tap new thread without spacer? What about the main gear drive play? I should probably modify the crossmember to install the transmission. cockerstar Posted October 15, 2009 Share Posted October 15, 2009 Definitely not a bolt on, but Austin makes a kit to swap a z32 transmission in with some machining to the bell-housing.
